Description
Ingredients:
Bread loaf (French baguette, Italian bread, or any crusty loaf)
Butter, softened
Garlic cloves, minced
Shredded cheese (such as mozzarella, cheddar, or a blend)
Fresh or dried parsley (optional)
Salt
Olive oil (optional)
Optional: additional fillings such as cooked bacon bits, sun-dried tomatoes, or chopped olives
Preparation:
Prepare the Garlic Butter:
In a bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic, a pinch of salt, and chopped parsley if desired. This mixture will form the base of the filling.
Prepare the Bread:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Using a sharp knife, make deep slices into the bread loaf at 1-2 inch intervals, ensuring not to cut all the way through the loaf. The slices should be deep enough to stuff but the loaf should remain intact.
Stuff the Bread:
Carefully spread the garlic butter mixture between each slice.
Insert shredded cheese into each cut, ensuring an even distribution. You can also add optional fillings like bacon bits, sun-dried tomatoes, or chopped olives at this stage for extra flavor.
Bake:
Wrap the stuffed bread loaf in aluminum foil to prevent the cheese from burning and to keep the bread moist.
Place the wrapped loaf on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes.
Unwrap the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the top of the bread is golden and crispy.
Serve:
Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
Serve warm, pulling apart the slices to reveal the melted, gooey cheese inside.
Stuffed cheesy garlic bread is a showstopper at any meal or gathering, offering a mouthwatering combination of crispy crust, gooey cheese, and fragrant garlic. Its rich flavor and satisfying texture make it a favorite for both kids and adults alike
